idiosyncratic daydreams
by Yosef Cassidy
()
I peer through the doorway observe and deem
a little lady being lured in a lavish harem,
Turned to a sill, eyes stopped to stare-
a girl standing empty, remiss and unaware
I close my eyes, blink and to ones despair
what i saw upon opening them i could not prepare,
Legs collapse confined to a chrysalis
helplessly gaze through the eyes of the girl
now standing erect at the edge of a precipice,
To fall to bliss or armistice?
Or solely to be free, free from reminisce?
Then all in an instance, one moment, one failure to concern
sprawled out and relaxed on an old metal seam
smiling and imagining the world of bream,
I dose off, to the gentle trickle of a nearby stream
In one lapse of light, I wake to find myself at home
with daze and confusion I walk through the doorway
observe and deem:
That fragile girl could never be free.
With my final thought i soon came to see
The girl was a representation;
A representation of Me!
These are the dreams I thought i could not share
Idiosyncratic daydreams, the dreams behind my debonair.
