Artist’s statement.
My work is based on observations of my immediate environment in Strandhill, Co. Sligo. It is also informed by the legacy of the North German Romantic tradition.
I work on domestic format board and canvas to create atmospheric images that are rooted in our collective memory of the History of Landscape Painting.
Constructing a contemporary view of our Visual Heritage.
I have worked as a professional painter since completing my Honours Degree at Sligo Institute of Technology in 2006.
My work is represented by Teach Ban Nua Gallery, Drumcliff, Co. Sligo. Bad Art Gallery, Francis Street, Co. Dublin and Whittle Gallery, Ennischrone, Co, Sligo.
